Dr. Joy has known she wanted to be a veterinarian since she was 6 years old. Her passion for animals has never waivered, even convincing her parents to get a bichon frise after years of constantly begging. To even further her passion, her first job in high school was working in the kennels of a local veterinary hospital. 

Born and raised in Waukee, Iowa, Dr. Joy studied animal science at Iowa State University and continued her veterinary education at Iowa State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. Her special interest include oncology. 

Dr. Joy shares her life with her husband Colin and their golden retriever, Nala. In her free time, you will find Dr. Joy with friends and family, going to country music concerts, and watching the latest TV episodes or movies.
