For many, cats are elusive creatures. They are a bit more discreet than the family pooch when greeting you as you walk in the door. They are often nocturnal. They are sometimes discriminating when it comes to guests, new food, or the concept of “playtime”. Yet, in many cases, some of our assumptions about our feline friends are based entirely on a game of contrast. That is, in comparison to the other most popular American pet: the domestic dog.
While, it is true that many felines are less rambunctious than the average canine, by making certain assumptions we may be limiting our interaction with and care of our kitties.
