Sandra Faeh DVM
During my childhood we moved almost every other year.  Besides my family, the only thing stable in my life were my pets.  They were my best friends, and because of the constant changes in my life I depended on them.  Because of the gifts they have given me throughout my life I wanted to give back to them.  In 1996 I became a veterinarian.......(Continue biography)

Lidia Komina DVM
I was the first one in my family to be born in the United States.  All of my family is originally from Macedonia (of the former Yugoslavia).  I have a great interest in space and science; I'm a huge Star Trek fan.  I even considered becoming an aerospace engineer at one point, however, my love of animals won out.  I feel very fortunate to be able to do what I do.  Being a veterinarian is like a dream come true.  I enjoy all aspects of veterinary medicine, however, I greatly enjoy the mechanics of surgery......(Continue biography)

Kerry Lancaster DVM
I have always loved animals and early on knew that I wanted to be a veterinarian.  I grew up in this area, spending most of my childhood in West Chicago.  In high school I worked part-time at a veterinary clinic in Bartlett as a kennel worker and veterinary assistant.  I spent many a day including Sundays and holidays, cleaning cages and bathing animals.  It was not exactly glamorous, but I learned a lot!......(Continue biography)

Nicole Rubendall DVM
I grew up in Newell, a small town in northwest Iowa and attended high school in Sac City, Iowa.  From there, I headed to Iowa State University in Ames to fulfill my lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian.  After 8 long years, I finally was able to put my interest to work.  I enjoy all aspects of small animal/exotic veterinary medicine, especially educating owners about preventative care......(Continue biography)

Amy Zeigler DVM
I am relatively new to the Chicago area, having spent most of my life in New York State, but I couldn’t be happier with my decision to join the team here at the Wheaton Animal Hospital!  I am so pleased be able to practice veterinary medicine after spending many years in school and in training as a kennel worker, receptionist, and technician myself......(Continue biography)

bullet Veterinary Assistants
  • Our veterinary assistants are an integral part of our team as their duties are the most diverse. They are trained to assist the veterinarians when needed to perform an exam on an unhappy patient, collect blood and urine samples, perform in-house laboratory tests, prepare samples for transport to outside labs, administer treatments and medications to patients, monitor anesthesia, clean and prepare surgery packs, as well as much more! The receive on the job training but are also encouraged to attend continuing education seminars and classes.

bullet Receptionists
  • Besides the usual duties of checking our patients in and out, the front desk staff sets the tone for the visit and gets you started off on the right foot! They are prepared to answer wide ranging questions from vaccine schedules to medication administration difficulties, to puppy training tips. They can also direct you more difficult questions to one of our veterinarians to get some advice or recommendations when needed. Most importantly, they can help you in difficult times such as an emergency or if your pet becomes ill and at the least, are there to listen.

bullet Kennel Staff
  • Our kennels staff is much more than a bunch of cage cleaners and dog walkers. The are very attentive to your pets needs, making sure that while in our care their health is stable, monitoring their appetites and watching for signs of problems, making sure that each one receives the property feeding, medications, and grooming. The have an arsenal of toys, blankets, and occasionally treats, to try to make your pets stay as enjoyable as possible!

bullet Groomers
  • Our groomers have the fun task of trying to help your pet look their best even when they don't always want to hold still! As noted in the services, they strive for perfection, using medicated shampoos as directed by the veterinarians, as well as acting as another set of eyes, noting any signs of problems with the coat, skin, ears, nails, and anal glands. This allows your pet not only to get a clip and clean, but also acts as a quick health check as well!

bullet Management Staff
  • Our team managers act as the quarterbacks. They focus primarily on the business aspects of the hospital, making sure we have the property supplies, ordering new medications, scheduling staff, and general problem solving, The most important product of their work is that they allow the rest of the staff to focus on our clients and the patient at hand.

bullet Employment Opportunities
  • We are always looking for new additions to our team. We may not be presently hiring, but always welcome you to come in an fill out an application, or drop off a resume. When openings do occur, we will post it here as well as review our current application database.
